Koike again shows off his mastery of lighting well in this B-26B portrayal, taking the very unusual step of lighting the aircraft from underneath! It works brilliantly with this invasion-stripe marked plane silhouetted against a bright sea of fluffy clouds. Over 5000 B-26s saw US service during WWII, primarily on the western front in Europe. Notorious for being a "widow maker" due to very high wing-loading causing a need for high landing speeds on early versions, modifications took care of the problems relatively quickly, and the plane ended the war with the lowest loss rate of any US bomber.
This print is reproduced on heavy art board just like the original, and sized identical to the original, measuring 400mm x 315mm (15.75 x 12.4 inches). It's offset printed, and the color reproduction has been approved by Koike himself. The art board measures 625mm x 453mm (24.6 x 17.83), giving you the freedom to have it framed as you would like.
